Last month, the government announced that May’s local elections will be going ahead as planned despite the pandemic, this includes those postponed in 2020. Due to the number of people shielding and those classed as vulnerable, there will most likely be an increase in postal votes this year.

London Mayoral election: this includes voting for London Assembly members
Mayoral elections: This includes both combined authority and local authority mayors, though does not affect many areas. The list of mayoral elections can be found HERE.

Application deadline in England and Wales
The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Tuesday 20 April. You must also be registered to vote by midnight on Monday 19 April.
